Purpose:

      The Universal Timer UT-01 is designed for measuring periods of time in the interval 1 microsecond – 9999 seconds. The device can work in manual (as a precise chronometer) as well as in automatic and computer controllable regime for data collection and processing. The four-digit LED display with automatic range change makes it very suitable not only for laboratory work but also for demonstrations. The universal timer is used in the laboratory and demonstration works in the Mechanics – General Kit and the Demonstration of Finite Speed of Sound Kit, both of which contain the necessary plug-ins. New kits compatible with the timer are to be developed.
     The computer connection option and the corresponding software provide for more effective demonstrations by using a projector and conducting experiments with modern methods of computer controlling and data collection and processing in real time.
